BRIEF HISTORY
The clubs origins go back to the early 80's when unarmed combat classes were taught to the Ashford Cadet Forces. So successful were these classes that it was decided to offer them to the general public. Again success followed to a point where the club was formalised and brought within the AMA (Amateur Martial Arts Association), which offered students a structured syllabus giving them a focus, the ability to measure their achievements and access to the Ju-Jitsu federation.
The Hakudu Ryu Ju-Jitsu Club is not like most other martial arts clubs, we have a family orientated friendly environment with a number of high level well rounded martial artist instructors.
No matter whether you are a child, a man, a woman, or disabled and whether you are a novice or an experienced martial artist there is a wealth of knowledge to draw upon within the club to improve your skill level and confidence.
We are a club that firmly believe that all egos should be left at the door of the hombu and the mat should be a relaxed place for learning whilst retaining respect for your training partners and instructors.
Over the years the club has taught people from many walks of life women, children and men alike - some of which have become accomplished dan grade instructors in their own right. The club has retained some of these individuals whilst others have gone on to open up dojo's of their own but all have remained within the Amateur Martial Arts Association practicing the art of Hakudu Ryu, the club's particular form of Ju-Jitsu.
